Floriano de Araujo Teixeira ( 1923 - 2000 ) was a painter , designer, cover artist , portrait painter , engraver and sculptor. In 1935 received his first drawing lessons and in the same year he painted his first watercolours . He works as an artist for the newspaper "Democrat" and first exhibits in 1941 where he wins first prize. 1949, in partnership with other artists, he starts the Center Elisha Visconti. He experiments in monotype and woodcut and writers, including Jorge Amado, ask him illustrate their works of short stories, poems, essays, novels and essays. In 1962 he is then invited by Antonio Martins Filho and joins his team at the University of Ceara, as a designer and researcher. His artistic works win growing national and international prestige and the first exhibition of his works take place in Bahia in the Museum of Unhão. In 1969 Floriano transfers to the Federal University of Bahia in Salvador, where he resided continuing to draw and paint until his death.
