Jenner Augusto (1924 - 2003) was a painter, illustrator, designer, and engraver. Having lived in Sergipe and Aracaju he moved to Salvadorin 1949 to work as an assistant in the studio of Mario Cravo Junior. At this time, he participated in the Baianos New Artists shows held at the Institute of History and Geography of Bahia. In the 1960s, he painted regularly in the wetlands and landscapes of Salvador. In 1956 , he won Gold Medal at the VI Salon Baiano of Fine Arts. In 1963 , won the grand prize for painting III Salon of Plastic Arts of Rio Grande do Sul . In 1965 made his first solo exhibition in Sao Paulo at Galeria Astrea. In 1966, he was invited to open the show "Baianos" in Philadelphia. The following year, he traveled through France, Italy, Holland, England and Belgium, which forms the basis of an album published in 1970.
